Senior Engineer - Substation (Primary)

To act in a senior technical capacity in producing WSP engineering related project deliverables relating to Primary Engineering for Transmission & Distribution, Renewable (Onshore & Offshore wind/ Solar), Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution. Have a minimum of five years and a maximum of ten years of experience in the field of Substation Transmission & Distribution, Renewable (Onshore & Offshore wind/ Solar), BESS projects. Preferably familiar with UK projects. Experience of working in a lead substation design role on National Grid Electricity Transmission projects (or other UK utilities like SSEN, SPEN etc.) in the UK will be an added advantage. Thorough knowledge and experience applying National Grids Technical Specification, Technical Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks relating to substations in the UK is expected. Understanding of the requirements of relevant UK Health & Safety legislation relating to design and construction work in the electricity supply industry. Membership in a relevant professional Engineering Institution, such as IET, CIGRE, IEC, IEEE, is desirable. Experience in Onshore wind, Offshore wind, Renewable (solar) and BESS projects is preferred. Experience with software such as CDEGS and WinIGS is preferred. Familiarity with 3D tools for Engineering design is desirable. Strong proficiency in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures. Demonstrates diligence, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Capable of managing tasks across multiple projects and handling conflicting deadlines. Able to work independently and/or as part of a project team.
