WSP’s Energy Solutions team provide market-leading competency in the development of heat networks, and private wire electrical networks. Working with public and private sector clients, we’re helping local communities, universities and health trusts to identify, design and deliver decarbonisation solutions for their buildings. We’re looking to grow our team of Electrical Engineers in response to increasing demand for decarbonisation services. You’ll be responsible for the design and development of private wire networks, and low carbon energy centres. You’ll be supporting the Mechanical team with the design of electrical services for low-carbon energy centre and district energy schemes. Your duties will also include: Leading electrical designs (11kV and LV) from feasibility through to construction. Undertaking site surveys and quality audits. Meeting with clients and contractors on a project basis under suitable guidance. Producing engineering drawings, calculations, schedules, specifications and reports in accordance with WSP’s project commitments. Surveying existing facilities & developing resilient infrastructure upgrade strategies. Preparing feasibility studies and technical reports. Producing CDM risk assessments. Undertake review of contractor’s design submissions. Supporting & mentoring junior engineers where appropriate. Coordinating with clients, contractors & multidisciplinary design teams. Develop and maintain strong client relationships. You’ll ensure that relevant Health and Safety risks and hazards are identified, made known to the project team and properly managed. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… You’ll have a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification and/or experience) and be looking to broaden your skillset to include design of HV and LV electrical systems. CEng or IEng status is desirable but not essential. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with WSP team members and external parties such as manufacturers, contractors, and clients.
