Engineer - Airfield

The WSP Aviation team is seeking an experienced Airfield Civil Engineer within our Indian office. The primary function of this role will be to support the Airfield Principal Engineer, however there will be potential to become a Senior Airfield Civil Engineer as the GCC Airfield Engineering team grows and develops. The successful candidate will be among one of the first members of this team and will form a crucial role in its growth and development. The Airfield Civil Engineer will be responsible in supporting delivering airfield civil engineering design and maintenance projects through various stages of design from feasibility/ option studies to detailed design and onto construction for various clients both in the UK and overseas. The current team is diverse and well respected across the industry therefore the candidate is required to have sound technical abilities. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in Civil Engineering projects at airports and preferably have a degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum Requirements Civil engineering experience of working on large, technically complex airport projects from the detailed design and construction support stages. Experience working within an engineering team in the delivery of technical aviation projects, sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues and be able to demonstrate a time when you’ve managed to do this successfully to solve complex problems. Strong verbal and written communication skills when providing design information or interacting with team members, industry associates and Clients, regardless of their technical abilities. Competent self-discipline with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritisation of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment to meet the needs of multiple projects and managers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet the technical and design objectives as directed by the Airfield Principal Engineer. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Experience of international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA. Knowledge and experience of using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and relevant other airfield engineering design software packages such as AviPlan, SkySafe and FAARFIELD is preferable but not essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant qualification Chartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT or equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience is preferable but not essential. Knowledge and experience of using Civil 3D and relevant other airfield engineering design software packages such as AviPlan, SkySafe and FAARFIELD is preferable but not essential.
