Automation Engineer Co-op/Intern

Position: Automation Engineer Co-op/Intern Number of Position(s): 2 Duration: 4 Months (with potential extension for Summer 2027) Date: January - April 2027 Location: Onsite, Ottawa, ON, Canada EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with an accredited school in Canada. You Must Have: Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts gained through coursework, projects, or practical experience. Comfortable working with Linux operating systems Experience with Java and familiar with programming concepts Scripting ( Bash, Perl, Python ) Experience using Power BI for dashboard creation, reporting, or data visualization. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and advanced formulas. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to data accuracy. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. It Would Be Nice If You Also Had: Experience with SQL, or similar data analysis and automation tools. Familiarity with operational processes and workflows in a technology-driven environment. Prior internship, co-op, academic project, or consulting experience related to software development. Experience with Power Automate or other workflow automation tools. Exposure to forecasting, demand planning, or business performance reporting. Familiarity with AI-driven analytics, automation, or predictive modelling techniques.
