Product Manager II - Financial Data

Accountabilities:: As a Product Manager II specializing in Financial Data, you will own the evolution of financial data structures and standards while ensuring they meet the needs of investors, financial professionals, and technology-driven workflows. You will combine analytical thinking, financial expertise, and cross-functional leadership to build scalable frameworks that improve data quality, usability, and future AI compatibility. Own and continuously evolve the financial data taxonomy, including financial metrics, accounting standards, financial statements, reporting patterns, and related data structures. Ensure financial data frameworks support both backwards compatibility and future expansion as new datasets and use cases emerge. Understand how capital markets participants consume financial data and define rules that make datasets intuitive, discoverable, and actionable. Serve as an internal subject matter expert on financial data generation and presentation. Create and maintain clear internal and external documentation covering financial data standards, definitions, labels, and conventions. Partner with Engineering, Research, Product, Sales, and client-facing teams to align stakeholders around financial data generation and presentation requirements. Translate business and client needs into structured datasets with strong depth, accuracy, relevance, and consistency. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues as new companies, metrics, and datasets are introduced, coordinating their resolution with relevant teams. Define use cases and requirements for financial datasets extending beyond the three core financial statements. Establish structured and scalable processes for onboarding new financial datasets and expanding data coverage. Design financial data structures with AI and LLM compatibility as a core consideration, supporting model training, inference, and AI-powered automation. Build repeatable frameworks and processes that create a foundation for scalable financial data accuracy, relevance, and growth. Requirements The ideal candidate combines product management experience with strong analytical capabilities, financial data knowledge, and an understanding of how professionals use data to make investment and business decisions. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing multiple workstreams, and translating complex data problems into practical, scalable frameworks. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or another highly analytical discipline. 5+ years of experience working with data structures, taxonomy, data governance, or closely related areas, including at least 2 years in product management or a comparable cross-functional role. Genuine interest in financial data and capital markets, with an understanding of how investors and financial professionals consume and interpret financial information. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex or ambiguous data challenges into structured frameworks and scalable solutions. Hands-on experience using AI and LLM tools in a professional or internal practitioner context. Curiosity about how financial data consumers are incorporating AI into their workflows and decision-making processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and workstreams. Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency with data management and analytical tools such as SQL and Python , with an openness to expanding your technical toolkit as the role evolves. Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment where data standards, products, and customer needs continue to evolve. Benefits Salary: Base compensation range of CAD $111,000–$145,000 .
