We support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions secure, simple, smart and accessible. Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential. Title and Summary Managing Consultant, Solution Consulting & Digital Deployment The Managing Consultant, Solution Consulting & Digital Deployment leads the shaping and mobilisation of complex digital engagements from opportunity qualification through solution definition and transition into delivery. The role combines commercial acumen, technical consulting and deployment leadership to translate client priorities into viable, scalable solutions that deliver measurable value. Acting as a senior advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, the Managing Consultant aligns business, product, technology and delivery teams and maintains accountability for solution quality, deployment readiness and execution confidence. The role is accountable across four connected areas: 1. Opportunity shaping and solution consulting – Qualify opportunities, clarify client outcomes and shape compelling solution and deployment approaches. 2. Technical and deployment leadership – Validate solution feasibility, architecture, delivery dependencies and implementation readiness, ensuring alignment with Mastercard’s core products and innovations. 3. Portfolio and stakeholder governance – Maintain oversight of the engagement pipeline, priorities, risks, decisions and outcomes within the region. 4. Operational scale and continuous improvement – Scale Digital Deployment services by improving processes, governance, resource planning, partner performance and reusable delivery assets. The Role Working across regional and global Mastercard teams, the Managing Consultant provides end-to-end leadership from early client conversations through mobilisation and handover to delivery. The role brings together strategic thinking and practical execution: challenging assumptions, resolving ambiguity, influencing senior stakeholders and ensuring that proposed solutions are commercially sound, technically credible and deployable within the client environment. Opportunity Shaping & Solution Consulting • Partner with account teams, product, Digital Labs and delivery leaders to identify, qualify and prioritise opportunities where Digital Deployment can accelerate client outcomes. • Lead discovery with client business and technology stakeholders to define objectives, success measures, constraints, dependencies and decision criteria. • Shape the end-to-end solution and deployment approach, including scope, delivery model, assumptions, effort, resourcing, timeline, risks and commercials. • Develop executive-level proposals, value narratives and statements of work that clearly articulate client outcomes and Mastercard’s differentiated value. • Support commercial negotiations and investment decisions while protecting delivery quality, feasibility and margin. Technical & Deployment Leadership • Assess client architecture, platforms, integration patterns, security requirements, operating model and implementation readiness. • Lead solution scoping and feasibility assessments, working with product and engineering teams to resolve functional and technical gaps. • Define the deployment blueprint, key workstreams, integration dependencies, acceptance criteria and transition plan required for successful mobilisation. • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, explaining complex technical choices, trade-offs and risks in clear business terms. • Provide quality assurance at key stage gates and ensure a controlled handover from solution consulting to delivery. Portfolio & Stakeholder Governance • Maintain an integrated view of the regional opportunity and deployment portfolio, including demand, capacity, financials, milestones, risks and dependencies. • Establish clear governance, decision rights and escalation paths across clients, account teams, products, engineering and delivery partners. • Provide concise executive reporting on pipeline health, mobilisation readiness, delivery confidence, commercial exposure and required interventions. • Identify cross-engagement themes and convert lessons learned into reusable methods, assets and recommendations for regional and global teams. Operational Excellence & Partner Management • Improve the operating model for opportunity intake, estimation, solution review, mobilisation, resource allocation and delivery handover. • Ensure engagements comply with Mastercard governance, security, risk, legal and financial requirements. • Build effective working relationships across product, engineering, implementation, consulting and market teams to remove barriers and accelerate decisions. • Forecast capability and capacity needs, support resource planning and coach colleagues involved in solution consulting and deployment. • Select, onboard and govern third-party partners where required, with clear accountabilities, service expectations and performance measures. About You Qualification & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. • Extensive relevant experience (7+ years) in solution consulting, technology consulting, solution architecture or digital deployment, with a track record of independently leading complex client engagements or major workstreams. • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, clarify ambiguous client needs and translate business objectives into practical solution and deployment approaches. • Strong working knowledge of digital platforms, APIs, cloud and integration patterns, security and operational readiness, with sufficient technical depth to challenge assumptions and guide solution decisions. • Experience developing client proposals, estimates, resource plans, delivery approaches and statements of work, with a clear understanding of commercial implications and delivery risk. • Proven ability to build credibility with senior business and technology stakeholders, facilitate complex discussions and communicate technical choices and trade-offs in clear business terms. • Experience coordinating multiple concurrent opportunities or deployments, with disciplined management of priorities, dependencies, risks, decisions and status reporting. • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence, provide direction to delivery partners and coach less-experienced colleagues, without relying on formal authority. • Strong judgement, structured problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with the resilience to work through ambiguity and take accountability for high-quality outcomes. Preferred Skills & Attributes • Experience in payments, financial services or another regulated technology environment, with a practical understanding of issuer, acquirer, merchant or payment-network ecosystems. • Knowledge of Mastercard products, platforms and implementation pathways, or comparable experience deploying complex digital payment capabilities. • Experience in one or more relevant domains, such as digital identity, authentication, tokenisation, fraud and risk controls, open banking, digital wallets or real-time payments. • Practical experience applying Agile, hybrid or product-led delivery methods within enterprise governance and implementation controls. • Experience creating or improving reusable consulting methods, implementation playbooks, estimation models or delivery accelerators. • A collaborative and pragmatic leadership style, with the confidence to constructively challenge stakeholders, make recommendations and align diverse teams around clear decisions.
