Lead Engineer DevOps

Job Description: Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer – P4 Role Description The DevOps Platform Engineer builds and maintains the automation, tooling, and delivery pipelines that power Carrier’s cloud platforms and digital products. This role ensures that developers can deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality applications faster by implementing CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native observability. The engineer works closely with Cloud Platform, Security, and Governance teams to standardize DevOps patterns, optimize release workflows, and promote a culture of automation and continuous improvement across AWS and GCP environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform for multi-cloud environments. Develop and manage shared DevOps tooling, reusable workflows, and standardized deployment templates. Implement infrastructure automation for containerized workloads (EKS, GKE, ECS, or Cloud Run). Collaborate with platform and application teams to integrate testing, security, and compliance automation into pipelines. Manage secrets, environment configurations, and build artifacts across cloud environments. Develop observability standards for logs, metrics, and traces across deployed services. Partner with engineering and governance teams to promote DevOps maturity, automation adoption, and platform reliability. Troubleshoot build and deployment issues, driving root cause analysis and continuous process improvement. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles with a focus on cloud automation. Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI). Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices. Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes or cloud-native services. Understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile delivery models. Working knowledge of cloud security, networking, and IAM fundamentals in AWS and/or GCP. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing reusable GitHub Action workflows and shared CI/CD modules. Familiarity with serverless computing (Lambda, Cloud Functions) and event-driven architectures. Exposure to observability tools (CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Datadog, or Prometheus). Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and automated compliance testing. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent cloud certification. Carrier is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
