Position Summary About Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) Samsung Semiconductor India Research; Bangalore (SSIR) is largest overseas research & development centers for Samsung Semiconductor. SSIR is organized into verticals aligned with the business divisions of Samsung Semiconductor, which includes System LSI, Memory. Memory business is one of the flagship and most profitable businesses within Samsung Semiconductor. Memory business boasts of being the world first in many technology & product areas. The Memory division at SSIR (MST) is a key partner for Samsung Korea R&D and has critical responsibilities for many products being developed within Samsung Memory business. The MST Software team works on firmware development for Flash based products (Solid State Drives, UFS, eMMC, MicroSD) and Client Software to enable Samsung products in market. In addition, this team is also responsible for research on new storage technologies and bringing new concepts to memory products. Teams in India, Korea and US work together to achieve overall Memory business goals. We explore new technologies in a broad spectrum of areas ranging from emerging Non-Volatile Memory (Storage Class Memories), Low-Latency System designs, Interface protocols and standards, Device Drivers & OS components, Open Ecosystem & Platforms. Current Position is in Linux driver development on Linux OS for a Cross Platform Application, which is used for SSD Validation with C & Experience with storage protocols like NVMe, SAS, will be an added advantage. Role and Responsibilities Individual Contributor: Strong Programming skills in C/C++, Data structures/Algorithms. Sound knowledge on NAND flash firmware stack like front end/back end etc. (FTL, Host Interface, Flash Interface etc.) Previous work experience on any of the storage protocols (eMMC/UFS/SCSI/SATA/NVMe). Knowledge on scripting languages like Perl/Python/Shell etc. and Batch/Make/CMM scripting etc. Strong debugging skills in Visual Studio, on ARM based SOC using Lauterbach T32, Logic Analyzers etc. Issue re-production/fixing, Logging/Diagnostics etc. Experience in Requirement analysis, Architecture, Design, Development and UT/IT. Trouble shooting complex issues such as scalability & performance issues, memory leaks, memory corruption and Code size issues & optimization techniques Excellent skills on written/verbal communications and complex design articulation/presentation Demonstrated team player or technical leader in a dynamic, fast moving and fast growing product development environment Conduct technical code reviews and ensure coding standards Own end-to-end delivery of UFS firmware projects and features Define best practices for firmware development and testing Optimize firmware performance, power efficiency, and reliability Experience – {6 – 13} years of experience Firmware Development Skills and Qualifications Qualifications B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/M.E Disclaimer Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR), a division of Samsung R&D India - Bangalore Pvt.
