BACKEND DEVELOPER ( NodeJS, Python, Postgres and AWS )

**Summary** We're looking for a skilled and adaptable Backend Developer to join our engineering team and help build robust, scalable backend systems using an AI-first development approach. The ideal candidate is comfortable leveraging AI code generation tools — particularly Claude's coding tools — to accelerate backend development, from API design to database architecture. You'll bring strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS, along with sharp prompt engineering skills and the ability to independently break down complex backend problems into clean, well-architected solutions. **Responsibilities** • AI-First Backend Development: Use AI code generation tools (especially Claude's coding tools) to design, build, and ship backend services and APIs, starting from detailed, well-structured prompts • Prompt Engineering: Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques and strong written English to precisely define requirements and generate high-quality, production-ready backend code • Core Backend Engineering: Build and maintain performant, secure backend services using Node.js and Python • Database Architecture: Design efficient, scalable schemas and queries in PostgreSQL, with attention to indexing, optimization, and data integrity • API Design: Architect clean, well-documented RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs that are easy to consume, extend, and maintain • Cloud Deployment & Monitoring: Deploy, manage, and monitor backend infrastructure on AWS (e.g., Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, S3, RDS), ensuring high availability and reliability • Problem Decomposition: Break down complex backend and system-design problems into clear components, and translate them into effective prompts for AI-assisted code generation • Documentation & Communication: Maintain clear documentation of AI-generated code, architectural decisions, and system design; communicate effectively with cross-functional teams • Research & Innovation: Stay current with advancements in AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering, backend frameworks, and AWS services **Core Skills Required** Core Technical Skills • Node.js: Building and maintaining backend services and APIs • Python: Backend services, scripting, and automation • PostgreSQL: Schema design, query optimization, and indexing • AWS: Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, S3, RDS and related services • Designing clean, well-documented RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs • Architecting scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems AI-First Development Skills • Demonstrable, hands-on experience building real applications using AI code generation tools, especially Claude's coding tools • Advanced prompt engineering for generating production-ready backend code • Ability to break down complex problems into clear components and translate them into effective AI prompts **Professional & Soft Skills** • Excellent written and spoken English • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking • Clear documentation of code, architecture, and design decisions • Attention to detail and ownership of end-to-end delivery • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams **Good to Have** • AWS certification • Exposure to GCP or Azure Qualifications • Bachelor's degree (4 yrs) or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field • 3–8 years of progressive experience in backend development, with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and Python • An "AI-first" mindset toward software development, with an understanding of how to effectively integrate AI tools into the engineering workflow **Benefits** • Competitive salary and benefits package • Opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-driven backend development • Collaborative, supportive, and innovative work environment • Chance to help shape how AI-first coding practices are adopted across the engineering team
