Manager - Business Finance

Mandate 3 – Employees will work full-time from their base location i.e. Bangalore. About the role This is a first finance role with high ownership and visibility, built around three major things: partnering with business and ops teams to close P&L plans and track actuals for close P&L monitoring, identifying cost saving opportunities and working with business teams to deliver cost saving initiatives, and periodic reporting for management review to track progress against issued business guidance. What you'll do Understand the business deeply and measure supply chain cost and loss • Developing a deep understanding of the Instamart business, especially the FnV supply chain, and other functions of the organization. • Having a clear understanding of the drivers of cost, and how cost structure is impacted with growth. • Build and maintain plan for logistics cost, manpower cost, packaging cost and warehouse losses. • Track actuals and compare it against plan, keep business/ops teams accountable for variances and control the cost numbers. Size and land cost savings • Size cost saving opportunities with business teams in various owned P&L line items, like first- and middle-mile logistics and manpower and take cross functional alignments from stakeholders for collaborative delivery of the same. • Creating processes for new initiatives and improving existing ones with focus on governance &cost leakage. • Validate savings after the fact against the P&L and keep the business teams accountable for variances. Planning, reporting, MIS and automation • Support the preparation of annual plan and monthly/quarterly forecast/plan for F&V supply chain cost and wastage, on a bottom-up approach in conjunction with business team. • Run weekly reviews with the business stakeholders and assist with ad-hoc analysis on various projects as and when required. • Help controllership at month end with accruals, wastage provisions and vendor claims. • Support periodic physical verification and stock reconciliation with supply chain and ops and follow variances through to an explanation. • Prepare the review packs with AI led automations for consumption across stakeholders. What you'll need • CA or an MBA in finance, with up to two years of experience. • Strong excel/spreadsheet skills and clean data structuring. • Comfort with large and messy data, and the habit of reconciling before concluding. • Sufficient SQL knowledge and comfort with AI (mainly Claude) to pull your own data and get familiarized with internal data structure within the first few months. • Strong interpersonal and; stakeholder management skills, ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams. • Self-starter who can take ownership of deliverables with minimal direction and develop new ways of approaching business problems. • Continuous improvement attitude and fast learning ability. Also useful • Any exposure to quick commerce, retail, FMCG, agri or foodtech. • Familiarity with mandi or APMC sourcing and supply chain operations. • Previous experience as a business finance partner is desired. As a finance first role with close partnering with ops, this comes with a defined scope and close guidance on it, alongside early exposure to supply chain reviews, and periodic visits to processing centres to understand how the cost is structured and better understand the ops perspective on the same.
