Senior Staff Research Specialist position in Technology Standards - Research & Innovation

Research & Innovation (R&I) in Technology Standards lays the path for Nokia’s future technology innovation and identifies the most promising areas for Nokia to create new value. Within R&I, we drive Nokia's technology leadership by developing and bringing innovative concepts to industry and standardization organizations. The unit has a strategic objective of anticipating, shaping, and protecting future technologies and systems and ensuring appropriate standards and industry specifications are developed. You must-have: Strong technical background in wireless communication and experience in innovating mobile radio networks and wireless communication technologies. Solid knowledge of standards for mobile communications including 3GPP and ORAN. Solid knowledge of methods to analyze and optimize performance of wireless systems, including hands-on experience in developing tools such as link-level and/or system-level simulators. Proven software development skills, including Matlab, C, C++, and/or Python. Experience in creating patentable concepts and innovation. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Leadership and collaborative mindset with the ability to work autonomously. Strong professional ethics, open communication, and ability to rectify mistakes quickly. Ways to stand out from the crowd: Hands-on experience with AI/ML techniques applied to wireless communication. Solid knowledge of 3GPP technical specifications and RAN working groups, especially RAN4. Understanding of 3GPP standardization process. Background in RAN4 RRM area. Product design and development of RRM solutions for radio access networks. Proven track record of innovation like publications in top conferences and journals.
