Practise the Senior Engineer - Structures at emit interview free →The Senior Structural Steel Engineer is responsible for the review of design, analysis, detailing coordination, and execution support of structural steel systems for industrial, commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. The role involves leading structural engineering activities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering technically sound and cost-effective steel structure solutions. The person should be capable in design of Post Tension, Structural Steel design, Steel to steel connections and steel to concrete connection design. Education Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory) Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred) Experience 8–15 years of experience in structural steel design and engineering. Experience in building, industrial, power, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects preferred. Technical Skills Structural steel design and analysis Connection design Steel detailing review Knowledge of IS 800, IS 875, IS 1893, AISC, Eurocodes, and related standards Structural optimization and value engineering Software Skills ETABS SAFE SAP2000 STAAD.Pro Tekla Structures AutoCAD Revit (preferred) MS Excel Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Leadership and team management Technical report writing Client communication and stakeholder management Project planning and execution Attention to detail and quality focus Preferred Certifications Chartered Engineer (preferred) IStructE, ICE, IEI, ASCE, or SEI Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent (preferred) Relevant structural design certifications KPIs Timely completion of design deliverables Design accuracy and quality Reduction in steel tonnage through optimization Compliance with codes and standards Client satisfaction and project success BGV: Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
