High-Speed Converters Test and Validation Engineer

Join Nokia’s Optical Networks division and contribute to the development and validation of advanced high-speed converter technology used in next-generation optical transmission systems. We are looking for a High-Speed ADC/DAC Test Engineer with strong hands-on laboratory experience . This is a practical, lab-focused engineering position for someone who is comfortable working directly with high-frequency test and measurement equipment and has experience characterizing Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) and Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) . The successful candidate will spend a significant part of their time working in the lab , setting up and executing measurements, analyzing results, troubleshooting issues, and improving test methodologies for high-speed converter technologies. We are looking for candidates with: Master’s degree or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Telecommunications Engineering , or a related technical field. Strong hands-on laboratory experience . Candidates should have spent significant time working directly with electronic/RF test setups and equipment. Practical experience testing and characterizing Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) and/or Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) . Experience with high-speed/high-frequency measurement equipment , such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators and related RF test equipment. Good understanding of ADC/DAC performance and measurement methodologies . Experience building, configuring and troubleshooting complex laboratory test setups. Python programming experience for test automation and laboratory equipment control. Basic understanding of digital signal processing and signal analysis. Basic understanding of firmware/software interfaces used to control and test hardware. Fluent written and spoken English. German language skills are an advantage/expected depending on the requirements of the team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with international engineering teams. Nice to have Experience with very high-frequency/RF measurements , particularly in mmWave or >100 GHz environments. Experience with ADC/DACs integrated into DSPs or ASICs . MATLAB experience. Knowledge of coherent optical transmission systems. Experience with device/package characterization and de-embedding. Linux experience. Previous experience working in multidisciplinary hardware development teams.
