Associate - Waste Water Modelling

As an Associate at WSP you will lead and manage the Waste Water Modelling Team having to manage a sizeable Team of Drainage Engineers. You will be working closely with UK business and with Team Leader – Waste Water Modelling in order to help out in resourcing needs and commercial side of the Projects. You will report to the Team Leader for Asset Consultancy. You will also be responsible for Technical assurance, winning work, manage and control Projects and Project budgets and helping out on recruitments. Additionally, you will work with the Principal Engineers on Team’s skill development and KPI’s. You will be overseeing engineering design work and ensuring compliance with best practices and UK regulations. Key Competencies / Mandatory skills Experience of one or more areas of UK Water distribution industry projects. Urban drainage modelling / Waste water modelling. Model verification . Needs Assessment & Optioneering. Experience in appropriate modelling software Infoworks ICM and GIS softwares. Good written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Competent in MS Office. Ability to work on own initiative on technical matters. Excellent communication, internal client handling, interpersonal skills and listening skills with the ability to influence and interact with people. Comfortable leading internal engineering discussions and the experience and ability to understand, evaluate and explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical professionals. A hard-working self-starter with initiative and ability to work within a team environment. Understand own strengths and impact, adapting behaviors according to different situations and individuals. Able to work effectively under pressure and Open-minded and intellectually agile. Act ethically with fairness, honesty and integrity. You should have demonstrable experience of resource and project management. You will be aware of current and emerging technologies relevant to climate change and sustainability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and with time management and strong organizational skills. Qualifications Masters Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering. Professional accreditation from ICE or CIWEM or pursuing. Good understanding of water and wastewater projects, preferably with exposure to standards and specifications in the UK Water Industry. A Minimum of 15 years industry experience is desired but not essential. Chartered Engineer status of a recognised professional institution (e.g. ICE, CIWEM) is preferred.
