A little more about your role… We are seeking a Data Engineer with a strong focus on database management to join our growing geospatial and data team. This role is ideal for someone ready to take responsibility for the design, maintenance, optimisation, and governance of databases that underpin critical analytics, reporting, and solutions across major land and infrastructure projects. You’ll be accountable for ensuring our data platforms are resilient, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… Strong technical skills in SQL Server databases, scripting (preferably Python or R), SQL, data management, and strong accountability behaviours along with a proactive, resilient mindset and exceptional problem-solving abilities are required. The ideal candidate will have a customer focused mindset to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. 3–5 years’ experience in data engineering with demonstrable database ownership or administration responsibilities. Strong proficiency in SQL Server: schema design, indexing, optimisation, monitoring, and performance tuning. Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data from multiple systems. Hands-on experience with SSRS, SSMS, Python, R, and Power BI. Solid understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and secure access management. Experience with spatial databases (PostGIS or SQL Server spatial) and GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS). Ability to document systems clearly and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Desirable Skills Exposure to big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka. Experience with Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake) or AWS/GCP equivalents. Understanding of CI/CD, Git, and automated testing processes. Knowledge of BIM datasets and AEC digital workflows. Professional certifications in cloud or data engineering (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate).
