AI Software Engineer – Intern

We are looking for a motivated AI Software Engineer Intern to join our team and contribute to Artificial Intelligence projects supporting our engineering and R&D activities. You will work alongside experienced software and AI engineers on real-world applications involving Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) and enterprise software development. This position is intended for a student with good programming fundamentals who wants to develop practical experience in AI software engineering. Rather than focusing only on theoretical AI or Machine Learning, you will learn how modern AI capabilities can be integrated into actual software applications and used to solve engineering and business problems. We do not expect a student to already be an AI expert. We are primarily looking for someone with solid programming foundations, technical curiosity and a genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence. The ideal candidate enjoys building and understanding software, is willing to experiment and learn, and is interested in discovering how Generative AI can be used in real engineering applications. The position will provide practical experience across different aspects of AI software development, from initial experimentation and prototyping to integration with existing applications and enterprise data. Over time, the successful candidate will be encouraged to become increasingly autonomous and take responsibility for more complex AI development tasks. You have: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related technical field. Good programming fundamentals. Practical programming experience with Python, C#, Java or another modern programming language, acquired through university projects, personal projects, internships or professional experience. Basic understanding of software development concepts. Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and Large Language Models. Basic understanding of APIs and how software applications communicate with external services. Ability to investigate technical problems and learn independently. Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new technologies. Good communication and collaboration skills. Good working proficiency in English. Academic projects, personal projects and open-source contributions are considered relevant experience. We do not expect candidates to possess all of these qualifications: Experience with Python for AI-related projects. Knowledge of C#/.NET or ASP.NET Core. Previous experience using an LLM API or AI SDK. Personal or academic projects involving Generative AI. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or another cloud platform. Basic understanding of RAG, embeddings or vector search. Experience with SQL or relational databases. Experience developing REST APIs or backend applications. Familiarity with Git or another version-control system. Knowledge of Machine Learning fundamentals. Experience with AI-assisted development tools. Fluency in Italian
