VP Delivery - Natural Resources

Accountabilities:: Define and execute the SAP delivery strategy for the natural resources sector, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and market opportunities. Strengthen the organization's position as a trusted SAP transformation partner for clients in mining, metals, energy, and other asset-intensive industries. Collaborate with technology and competency leaders to incorporate SAP innovations, industry standards, and leading practices into client solutions. Oversee complex SAP programs and projects, ensuring delivery meets client expectations, contractual commitments, quality standards, timelines, and financial targets. Maintain alignment between delivery activities and client business outcomes, expected benefits, and value-realization objectives. Act as executive sponsor for strategic engagements, providing leadership during escalations, critical decisions, and project recovery initiatives. Build and maintain strong executive-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on SAP solutions, services, and transformation priorities. Drive client satisfaction through proactive communication, effective governance, and timely resolution of issues. Establish consistent delivery methodologies, governance frameworks, and quality standards across the project portfolio. Identify and pursue opportunities for SAP consulting, implementation, optimization, and managed services within the natural resources sector. Partner with sales and account management teams to support client retention, account expansion, proposals, solution development, and commercial strategy. Lead pre-sales activities, including delivery planning, resource allocation, project estimation, risk assessment, and executive presentations. Develop repeatable industry solutions and scalable delivery capabilities to strengthen market competitiveness. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing SAP delivery organization, fostering excellence, innovation, collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support career development, succession planning, knowledge sharing, and employee engagement across geographically distributed teams. Optimize staffing, skills, and delivery models across onshore, nearshore, offshore, and development-center teams. Oversee the operational and financial performance of the natural resources delivery portfolio in collaboration with global practice leadership. Monitor revenue, margins, utilization, backlog, forecasts, delivery costs, and project profitability, taking corrective action when necessary. Identify and address margin erosion, scope changes, resource constraints, and operational inefficiencies. Provide regular financial and operational reports to executive leadership, highlighting performance, risks, trends, and improvement actions. Define and monitor key performance indicators covering delivery quality, client satisfaction, utilization, profitability, and project health. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality SAP solutions. Identify and mitigate technical, operational, commercial, financial, security, and client-related risks across the project portfolio. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, internal policies, applicable regulations, industry requirements, and delivery standards. Promote effective change management, testing, data governance, security, documentation, and operational readiness. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. More than 15 years of experience in enterprise technology consulting, SAP delivery, or a comparable business environment. Significant experience delivering large-scale IT programs or services for global organizations. Proven track record of leading complex transformation programs and managing geographically distributed teams. Strong understanding of consulting delivery models, program governance, implementation methodologies, and quality management. Demonstrated experience managing delivery portfolios, budgets, forecasts, profitability, and commercial risks. Strong executive communication, client relationship management, negotiation, and leadership capabilities. Experience supporting business development, account growth, solution design, proposals, and commercial negotiations. Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to lead client-facing implementation activities across multiple regions. Experience in asset management, maintenance, supply chain, procurement, project management, finance, production, or field operations is an asset. Previous experience working with a global systems integrator, technology consulting firm, or managed services provider is preferred. An advanced degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field is considered an advantage. SAP, project management, program management, or relevant industry certifications are beneficial.
