VDI / Citrix Engineer Sr Principal

Accountabilities:: Design and develop enterprise-level and solution-level architectures for new and existing VDI environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure. Deploy, integrate, enhance, and maintain virtual desktop solutions using Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, and other cloud hosting platforms. Build and manage gold images, application packages, software offerings, user profiles, and related VDI components to support reliable enterprise environments. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, management tools, system software, and supporting infrastructure across Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments. Build, migrate, integrate, and test AWS and Azure environments while using infrastructure-as-code technologies such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible to automate deployments and operations. Administer identity and access management solutions and large-scale system integrations while maintaining required security postures, applying updates, and remediating vulnerabilities and configuration issues. Monitor and maintain infrastructure against customer requirements, troubleshoot operational challenges, and provide technical support, including occasional after-hours on-call coverage. Collaborate with cloud hosting and other technical teams to deploy large-scale environments, refine technical requirements through rapid prototyping, and identify tools and processes that improve platform capabilities. Develop scripts, templates, and automated workflows that improve developer and operations functions, while maintaining configurations in line with industry standards and best practices. Prepare technical documentation, briefing materials, system designs, and other deliverables for program reviews, technical assessments, and control gates. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with 10+ years of related professional experience. At least 4–5 years of hands-on VDI engineering or systems engineering experience, with strong expertise in Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, and AWS WorkSpaces. Demonstrated experience with cloud hosting environments and large-scale systems integration, including AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible. Strong Windows Server and Linux/Unix administration capabilities, along with experience in Identity & Access Management and profile management. Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification, such as Security+, is required. Ability to work effectively across remote technical teams, manage complex engineering priorities, communicate technical concepts clearly, and operate independently in mission-critical environments. Strong documentation and briefing skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear architecture, implementation, and operational materials. Preferred experience includes Citrix certifications such as CCAV or CCP-V, Azure Virtual Desktop, ARM/BICEP templates, and cloud automation. Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and project lifecycle workflows is desirable. Ability to travel approximately 10–25% as required. The position is remote, with Miami identified as a preferred location; travel may be reduced for candidates based there.
