Senior SMSF Accountant

Accountabilities:: Manage a growing portfolio of SMSF customers, ensuring high standards of accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and service quality. Prepare and deliver annual SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory lodgements across a range of fund structures and scenarios. Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, providing clear and confident guidance throughout important SMSF milestones. Work closely with external SMSF auditors, regulators, and cross-functional teams to support efficient fund administration and compliance. Develop strong knowledge of SMSF products and services and act as a trusted source of expertise for customers and colleagues. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and operational practices to support scalability and enhance the customer experience. Contribute to broader operational excellence and service-quality initiatives while supporting the continued growth of the SMSF offering. Requirements Strong professional experience in SMSF administration, with confidence working across complex superannuation structures and compliance requirements. Demonstrated technical accounting expertise, ideally including end-to-end preparation of SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory lodgements. Experience supporting SMSF audit processes and working effectively with external auditors. Working knowledge of Australian accounting, tax, and superannuation legislation within a specialist SMSF environment. Experience with Class or a similar SMSF administration platform is advantageous. Strong customer and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers, colleagues, auditors, regulators, and other external stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining consistently high-quality work.
