Renewable Energy Senior Project Development Attorney

Accountabilities:: Support clients and legal teams throughout renewable energy project development and related transactional matters. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of renewable energy agreements, including Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Operations and Maintenance (O&M), and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Collaborate closely with clients, attorneys, and other professional stakeholders to advance project development objectives and resolve complex legal and commercial issues. Provide legal analysis and practical advice throughout project development, helping clients navigate contractual and transactional considerations. Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality legal documents, correspondence, and transaction materials. Manage multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously, maintaining organization, quality, and responsiveness while working against demanding deadlines. Apply strong negotiation and deal-management skills to help move transactions efficiently toward completion. Work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, distributed legal team. Mentor and support junior attorneys, sharing knowledge and contributing to a team-focused professional environment. Follow established firm policies, practices, priorities, and professional standards while taking on additional responsibilities as needed. Requirements Approximately 7–10 years of law firm experience, ideally with a practice focused on renewable energy, project development, infrastructure, or related industries. Significant experience drafting and negotiating renewable energy contracts, particularly EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, and comparable project agreements. Strong deal management, organizational, drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills. Excellent legal research capabilities and a demonstrated ability to produce clear, precise legal documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other professionals. Ability to independently manage complex legal matters while also collaborating effectively within a team. Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience mentoring or supporting junior attorneys and a team-oriented approach to legal practice. Comfortable working effectively in a fully remote and distributed environment. Admission to, and good standing with, the Bar of the applicant’s state of residence. Strong interest in renewable energy and commitment to advancing sustainable energy development. Excellent academic credentials and substantial law firm experience are preferred. Benefits Base salary of $250,000+ , with final compensation determined based on experience, relevant expertise, business needs, and market factors.
