Project Leader

Accountabilities: Lead medium- to high-complexity clinical trials or lower-complexity clinical trial programs, taking full accountability for deliverables, timelines, budgets, resources, and quality. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering milestones, budgets, resources, dependencies, and performance metrics. Own study-level client relationships by establishing effective communication channels, managing expectations, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. Oversee project financial performance, including budget management, revenue recognition, forecasting, resource planning, and scope changes. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while developing contingency plans and communicating risk status and mitigation strategies to clients and stakeholders. Establish and monitor quality standards, ensuring deliverables meet expectations and implementing corrective and preventive actions when required. Lead cross-functional project teams, establish shared goals, promote accountability, and maintain delivery momentum through regular project reviews. Represent project leadership in client meetings, bid activities, investigator meetings, and relevant professional conferences. Mentor Project Leaders and junior team members while contributing to broader program management activities when needed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a science or medical-related field. 10+ years of experience in clinical research, healthcare, or another regulated environment, with a demonstrated track record of managing complex projects. Advanced project management and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to create urgency, assess complex situations, and develop practical solutions. Proven experience managing client relationships at the project level and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders. Strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, ICH-GCP principles, and relevant regulatory requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organization, conflict-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with limited oversight while collaborating effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional environment. Strong attention to detail, accountability, and a patient-focused approach to clinical research delivery. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, project planning software, and clinical research systems such as CTMS, EDC, IXRS, and TMF. An advanced degree in a relevant discipline, PMP certification or equivalent, and experience across multiple trial phases or program-level responsibilities are advantageous.
