Linguistic Quality Auditor – IPA Phonetic Transcription Review

Accountabilities:: Audit a representative sample of completed linguist submissions to verify the accuracy of previous validation or correction decisions. Compare IPA transcriptions against the pronunciation captured in the corresponding audio recordings. Identify phonetic transcription errors, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies in reviewed submissions. Provide corrections where applicable, depending on the confirmed project scope. Review short audio recordings alongside standard orthographic and IPA transcriptions. Work within the designated client-owned platform and follow established project procedures. Meet agreed turnaround times, quality benchmarks, and project-specific review standards. Maintain consistent attention to detail across all audited linguistic content. Requirements: Native or near-native fluency in the relevant target locale. Strong knowledge of phonetics and International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcription. Previous experience reviewing or producing phonetic transcriptions is highly relevant. Prior experience using CAT tools or similar client-owned linguistic platforms. Excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to identify subtle pronunciation or transcription discrepancies. Ability to work independently while consistently meeting defined quality standards. Strong analytical judgment when comparing spoken audio with written and phonetic representations. Reliable availability for the project period from early October through mid-October 2026. Availability for approximately 20 hours of work during the project. Relevant target-language expertise in one or more of the following locales: fr_CA, en_US, pt_PT, vi_VN, de_DE, ko_KR, tr_TR, it_IT, id_ID, nl_NL, th_TH, es_ES, ms_MY, pl_PL, ja_JP, or he_IL.
