Accountabilities: Investigate disputed credit card, debit card, and ACH transactions and determine appropriate actions within established resolution timeframes. Review individual cases using internal policies, procedures, and investigation methodologies to identify fraud patterns, transaction anomalies, and relevant trends. Analyze account and transaction data to understand behavioral patterns and support accurate case decisions. Collaborate with fraud, disputes, operations, and other relevant teams to determine appropriate next steps on complex or escalated cases. Maintain or exceed established service-level agreements (SLAs) for resolving assigned cases and minimizing potential financial losses. Handle escalations from internal and external stakeholders professionally, efficiently, and with sound judgment. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of fraud risks, prevention techniques, payment disputes, and relevant technologies. Work with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve fraud prevention processes, tools, and loss-reduction mechanisms. Provide recommendations and insights to management based on case trends, transaction analysis, and operational observations. Learn and effectively use internal systems, investigation tools, data sources, and AI technologies to improve productivity and decision-making. Leverage Claude or equivalent large language model tools to support research, communication, analysis, and day-to-day productivity. Balance accuracy, speed, customer impact, and risk when making decisions in a fast-moving operational environment. Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and able to commit to a full-time internship schedule. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information and make sound decisions. Comfortable analyzing data and making impactful decisions in situations that may involve ambiguity or incomplete information. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Good business judgment and the ability to communicate decisions and recommendations clearly. Ability to work independently and take initiative after completing initial training. Demonstrated experience working with Claude or an equivalent large language model tool, with the ability to use AI effectively for research, productivity, and communication. Ability to learn new systems, tools, processes, and fraud-related concepts quickly. Strong sense of ownership and consistently high standards for accuracy and quality. Comfortable challenging existing approaches respectfully and contributing ideas for better ways of working. Adaptable and action-oriented, with the ability to make timely decisions and take calculated risks when appropriate. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with cross-functional colleagues. Resilient and results-oriented, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established timelines. Previous internship or professional experience is beneficial, particularly in analytics, operations, finance, customer support, risk, fraud, or technology-related environments. Benefits Compensation: $800 USD per month. Employment type: Paid, full-time independent contractor internship. Work arrangement: Fully remote from Brazil.
