Cloud Automation Engineer

Accountabilities:: Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent technologies to enable repeatable and version-controlled Azure deployments. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and approved DevSecOps tooling. Develop automation solutions with Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or other approved technologies to streamline configuration, provisioning, and infrastructure operations. Support containerization strategies for AI platforms and analytical applications using Docker, Azure Container Instances, Kubernetes, or related technologies. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure for applications, data pipelines, and cloud resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other approved observability tools. Automate data quality checks, validation workflows, and operational processes to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention. Maintain infrastructure baselines, tagging standards, naming conventions, and configuration management practices supporting governance, cost optimization, and compliance. Support cloud infrastructure deployments for AI applications and analytical workloads, ensuring scalability, performance, and security requirements are met. Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, deployment procedures, and Infrastructure-as-Code repositories. Collaborate with government stakeholders, security teams, and development teams to integrate DevSecOps practices, support Agile delivery, and maintain security and compliance requirements. Requirements Bachelor’s degree plus 13 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure automation, or a related field; equivalent combinations include a Master’s degree plus 10 years, 19 years without a degree, or an Associate degree plus 15 years. Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or comparable technologies such as CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Bicep. Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security capabilities. Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar platforms. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or comparable languages. Experience with Azure Government and Azure Commercial/GCC environments, including cross-tenant connectivity and compliance requirements, is desirable. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, or Azure Container Instances is preferred. Experience in federal government, FedRAMP, or other highly regulated environments, including familiarity with ATO processes, NIST 800-53 security controls, and continuous monitoring, is an advantage.
