Accountabilities:: Interpret insurance policy wording, determine applicable coverage, and establish appropriate reserves for assigned Accident Benefits claims. Investigate, negotiate, and settle moderate to highly complex claims through telephone, written correspondence, and in-person interactions where required. Manage claims in accordance with established policies, procedures, best practices, and applicable legislative and regulatory requirements. Maintain thorough and accurate claim files, ensuring documentation supports decisions and settlement activity. Resolve claims within personal settlement authority and follow appropriate guidelines when matters exceed assigned authority. Establish clear customer service expectations, take ownership of customer concerns, and proactively identify solutions to resolve problems. Communicate professionally and effectively with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, legal representatives, and other stakeholders. Work collaboratively with Accident Benefits Adjusters and Claims Assistants to support efficient and consistent claims handling. Requirements: Experience in Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, Property Claims, Underwriting, Sales, or another relevant insurance environment. Completion of a CIP designation , or a demonstrated interest and willingness to pursue the designation. Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to assess claim strengths and weaknesses and make well-reasoned decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. Strong time-management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and accountability. Ability to interpret policy coverage, manage claim documentation, negotiate settlements, and work within regulatory requirements.
