Application Administrator Team Lead

Accountabilities: Establish and enforce quality assurance standards, testing methodologies, and application administration best practices. Lead and coordinate test planning, execution, defect management, release validation, risk mitigation, and quality assurance activities. Allocate QA and application administration resources according to project requirements, priorities, and business needs. Develop, monitor, and communicate quality metrics and KPIs covering testing progress, defect trends, automation effectiveness, application performance, and release readiness. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across application administration and quality assurance processes. Provide primary leadership and performance oversight for the application administration team. Perform application administration activities while supervising and coordinating the broader team's work. Establish effective processes for identifying, reporting, monitoring, and resolving application performance issues. Support budgeting and technology planning related to systems, utilities, application software, and application-management strategies. Research, evaluate, and recommend software tools, application platforms, monitoring technologies, automation solutions, and performance-enhancement capabilities. Develop technology roadmaps and oversee the acquisition, implementation, and inventory management of applications and supporting tools. Monitor application administration effectiveness through KPIs, report performance to leadership, and provide recommendations for improvement. Act as a project leader and subject matter expert across multiple complex technology initiatives. Develop training, mentoring, and professional-development activities to strengthen team capabilities. Create training and guidance for IT and business stakeholders to improve understanding of application administration processes and responsibilities. Manage team-related human resources activities, including hiring, performance management, career development, promotion and compensation recommendations, corrective action, and termination recommendations. Provide clear communication to leadership regarding quality status, testing progress, risks, defects, issues, application performance, and release readiness. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. At least 11 years of relevant professional experience, with relevant education and work experience potentially considered in combination. At least 1 year of experience managing people, processes, or projects. Demonstrated experience with application development tools and application testing. Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, testing methodologies, defect management, release validation, and software quality practices. Experience establishing and monitoring KPIs, quality metrics, and performance indicators to drive operational improvement. Ability to evaluate application-management tools, software platforms, automation technologies, monitoring solutions, and performance-enhancement tools. Strong project leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and competing priorities. Experience overseeing teams, allocating resources, developing talent, and providing coaching and performance feedback. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify application risks and develop practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information, risks, and recommendations to leadership and business stakeholders. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across technical and business functions. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing priorities.
