Senior Test Engineer - Embedded Software

Your Role

We’re looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our Hardware team in Den Bosch and help us build our wearables products. You’ll work as part of a multi-functional, autonomous squad using Agile methodology, alongside electrical and mechanical engineers developing the next generation of our products. You’ll be a key player in constantly seeking ways to improve our quality practices and level up the capability of the people around you.

In this position, you’ll:

• Establish and scale automation. You’ll design, implement, and maintain the automated testing infrastructure and test suite for embedded Linux. You should have strong experience using automation technologies such as Robot Framework, Docker, and GitHub Actions, as well as experience testing at different levels of the product – including integration, functional, performance, and stress testing.
• Collaborate and advise. You’ll work closely with our Hardware, Firmware, and Application Software Engineers, as well as the System Architect, to ensure testability is built into the design and to create a reliable, scalable, and easily updateable firmware system.
• Mentor and drive quality. You’ll be a proactive advocate for quality, guiding the team in planning, designing, and delivering comprehensive QA strategies, including both automated and manual testing efforts on complex projects.
• Power our next generation of devices. You will help us move early prototypes into robust, fully functioning, and production-ready devices by being the quality partner throughout the development cycle.

Location

Time spent collaborating with other Hudlies in office will be a regular part of how you work. We’re currently considering applicants within commuting distance of Den Bosch. You will spend more time in office than remote, with the freedom to coordinate your specific in-office days with your team.

Must-Haves

• Expertise in low-level embedded software/firmware testing. You have deep experience in embedded systems and/or firmware testing, plus you’re an advanced user of a Unix-like operating system.
• Field support. Experience supporting customers, and ideally manufacturers, directly
• Cloud platform knowledge. You have experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
• IoT experience. You’ve worked with IoT devices and understand the unique testing challenges required to develop these products
• Team-player mindset. You’re collaborative and flexible and fully commit to a team; in fact, that’s when you perform at your best.

Nice-to-Haves

• A STEM degree. You hold a BSc degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another STEM discipline.
• Experience in system-level testing. You have experience performing system-level testing.
• Similar product experience. You’ve worked on and scaled embedded systems, camera technology, wearables, or Linux-based products.
• Experience in the sports industry. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities within sports technology.
