The Opportunity in a Nutshell 

As a Forward Deployed Product Manager at Valtech you embed inside a small, senior FDE pod and lead the redesign of how AI shows up in your client's business. You don't hand over strategy decks or shepherd long backlogs. You sit alongside your client, learn the real workflow, and build the experience that turns AI investment into outcomes that stick. 

You're a T-shaped product leader: deep in product craft, dangerous in engineering and UX. You can read a system architecture and challenge a technical trade-off. You can sit with a designer and shape an interaction. You move fluidly between business outcomes, working code, and human experience. You're built for ambiguity, comfortable being wrong fast, and energized by the shortest possible path between a real problem and a working solution. 

What You Can Expect 

• Embed inside a Forward Deployed Experience Pod, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the client to learn the real workflow before you redesign it. 

• Own the workflow, KPIs, and alignment for your pod. Define success metrics with the executive sponsor at week one, then build until you hit them. Measure outcomes against KPIs, not features shipped. 

• Redesign the human experience around AI, not the other way around. 

• Break a complex business problem into composable, shippable work the pod can ship in days, not quarters. Production progress every day. 

• Work in your client's stack alongside the Forward Deployed Engineer and Forward Deployed Experience Designer in your pod.  

• Pair with the Valtech leadership and your client's executive sponsor(s) to clear the path in real time. Legal, compliance, architecture, risk, governance, internal politics.  

• Govern, secure, and measure outcomes from day one. AI in production demands real attention to evals, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design. You own the framework that proves the solution works and keeps working after the pod rolls off. 

• Transfer ownership cleanly. By the end of the engagement, the domain expert is set up to run the solution long-term without the pod. Documentation, conventions, and the team rituals that sustain the change are part of what you ship. 

• Surface the next opportunity from inside the work. Embedded pods see what's broken next before anyone else does. You bring that signal back, so the pod earns its way into the next problem rather than waiting for procurement. 

• Contribute to the evolution of Valtech's FDE practice. Every pod is a learning loop. Share what works, what didn't, and the patterns that should harden into how we deploy across clients. 

Must-Have Qualifications 

• Demonstrable experience as a senior Product Manager in a digital consultancy, product organization, or embedded-team environment, with a track record of shipping production software, not just running discovery. 

• T-shaped skill profile. Product is your deep specialty, but you have enough hands-on experience in engineering and UX design to be a contributor in these spaces, not just conversant. You can read and reason about code, prototype an interaction in Figma, and hold your own in technical and design trade-off conversations. 

• Proven experience taking AI or ML solutions from concept into production, not just pilot. You understand why most AI pilots never reach production, and you have direct experience navigating the people, process, and governance problems that cause it. 

• Hands-on fluency with modern AI tooling across the SDLC: AI-assisted requirements and synthesis, prototyping with tools like Figma Make or Claude, AI-accelerated development pairing with engineers, agent evaluation frameworks, and the practical judgment to know what's production-ready and what isn't. 

• Strong executive presence paired with hands-on credibility. Equally effective in a working session with two engineers and an executive sponsor review. You earn trust quickly inside client teams and operate as a partner, not a vendor. 

• Proven ability to break ambiguous business problems into composable, shippable units of work and sequence them for daily progress. Comfort pressure to demonstrate value continuously, not at the end of a long cycle. 

• Solid commercial awareness. Comfortable with milestone-based engagements where the pod is accountable to deliverables, not hours. 

• Experience in modern delivery environments, with the ability to adapt the operating model to the engagement rather than apply a framework rigidly. Equally comfortable when there is no backlog, no rituals, and no playbook yet. 

• A track record of leaving teams stronger than you found them. The FDE model is built on capability transfer, so the ability to coach a domain expert into ownership is part of the job, not a bonus. 

The Type of Person We'd Love to Meet 

• Built for ambiguity. You head into the unknown without waiting for a brief, a backlog, or permission. The first week of a new engagement, where nothing is defined yet, is the part of the job you're most excited about. 

• T-shaped by instinct, not just resume. You actively pick up the skills around your specialty because being narrow slows the team down. You're the PM who has built a working prototype, written a SQL query, and run a usability test in the same week, and you don't think of any of it as out of role. 

• A polyglot communicator. You can hold the architecture conversation with the engineer, the interaction conversation with the designer, the workflow conversation with the domain expert, and the outcome conversation with the executive sponsor, often in the same morning. 

• Deeply curious about AI as a craft, not as a buzzword. You experiment with new models, tools, and agent patterns on your own time. You have informed opinions on where AI is genuinely useful and where it's smoke, and you can defend either position. 

• Outcome-obsessed. You measure your work by what changed for the user and the business, not by what got shipped or how many tickets closed. You'd rather invalidate an assumption in a week than spend a quarter validating it. 

• Boundless initiative and a bias toward action, balanced with the judgment to know when the right move is to stop, learn, and align before building more.

The benefits   

This is a full-time position based in Montreal/Toronto. The offered salary range is 130,000 - 175,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and location. 

Valtech offers a comprehensive benefits package effective after three months of continuous service: 

• A comprehensive insurance plan, where you can choose the module that best suits your needs—Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The employer may contribute up to 80% of your coverage depending on the selected module. This plan includes short- and long-term disability coverage. 

• Dialogue via Sun Life provides virtual healthcare services, allowing you to consult with a healthcare professional for emergencies, prescription renewals, and more. You also have access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program, as well as a complete mental health support program. 

• A $500 Personal Spending Account, which can be used for healthcare reimbursements, gym memberships, public transit passes, office supplies, or contributions to your RRSP through Valtech. 

• A retirement plan where Valtech will match 100% of your RRSP contributions through a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), up to a maximum of 4%. You can start contributing to your RRSP immediately, and to the DPSP after 3 months. The vesting of the DPSP will be after a 24 months of service.  

• Access to a flexible vacation under Valtech's policy to support your work-life balance, with 5 days available during your probation period and a prorated amount calculated for the remainder of the year. 

• Personal Technology Reimbursement – $30/month for every employee-offered on day 1.  

• We close during the winter holidays and offer flexible scheduling throughout the year, so you can enjoy those sunny Friday afternoons—provided your weekly hours are completed.
