Head of Delivery Operations, France

Information about the position 

As the single threaded owner for all first and last mile activities in France, your mission is to drive quality and cost improvement for your market, which you will deliver on through strong supplier management, relentless focus on driving key metrics, influencing stakeholders and being an inspirational leader for your team.

You own the day to day delivery operations for all of France and have a team of delivery managers and coordinators to support you in your mission. You will spend your time ensuring that our DSP’s are meeting service obligations whilst future proofing your operation so that we are able to support the ambitious growth plans for VintedGo.

In this position: 

1. Reduce FM / LM cost per parcel
• The budget holder for your market, responsible for keeping costs under control and identifying / implementing savings through strategic negotiations or other efficiency opportunities. 
• Whilst the mission is to reduce cost, there must be a cognisance of the impact on speed and own any trade off’s that need to be made
2. Quality Management:
• Responsible for improving customer experience by making sure that parcels as passing through each stage of the funnel without delay
• Day to day driving of DSP performance through the delivery team. Ensure that team is focussed on the most impactful topics through data analysis and clear action planning to improve funnel speed
• Ensure that we are visiting the correct amount of points on a weekly basis and the split between the points is balanced to ensure parcels are not dwelling needlessly
3. Cross functional collaboration: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that:
   transportation topics are being prioritised, we are supporting the wider business where needed, we have clear handshakes between functions and we are taking decisions that provide the biggest net benefit to the business
4. Team motivation and happiness: Ensure that the delivery team is clear on the departmental objectives and motivated to go above and beyond to achieve our goals. The team should feel supported and empowered to drive meaningful business improvement.

About you 

Knowledges:

• Logistics and transportation expertise 
• Strong commercial acumen for P&L ownership
• Experienced problem solver within logistics and transportation businesses

Technical knowledges:

• Track record building and executing operational improvement plans
• Deep knowledge of the subtleties and nuances in French transportation networks
• Expertise in French transport regulations
• Extensive experience working with French DSP’s providing last mile services
• Highly numerate with strong data analysis skills

Soft Skills:

• Natural communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to navigate into a multicultural environment
