Senior Data Scientist, Marketing DSA

Vinted’s Marketing domain is growing - we’re on a mission to make Vinted known and loved as the go-to destination for everything second-hand. Marketing is one of the primary drivers behind our biggest strategic goals, from winning the USA market to expanding beyond fashion into a multi-vertical platform.

We’re looking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Marketing Data Science and Analytics team to hands-on build, refine, and scale our core predictive and explanatory models. In this role, you will be the technical engine behind our Bayesian Media Mix Models (MMM), user value machine learning models, and advanced statistical frameworks. Your focus will be on engineering robust, high-performing models that transform complex data into the precise insights our domain relies on.

In this position, you’ll 

• Evolve Our Marketing Measurement: Code, calibrate, and scale our Bayesian Media Mix Models (MMM) and ROI frameworks to unlock precise business insights.
• Build and Deploy Core Models: Build and maintain sophisticated econometric and statistical models (MMM, GMV, engagement) to quantify marketing impact and guide multi-channel growth.
• Automate Model Validation & Health Monitoring: Design automated frameworks and reliability metrics that continuously monitor model health and ensure long-term accuracy.
• Build Next-Gen, Automated Capabilities: Drive the ambition toward intelligent data products [such as self-healing MMMs] using modern AI and automation to optimize model runtimes and scale our ecosystem as Vinted grows.
• Partner Decision Scientists & Marketing Leadership: Act as the core technical partner, translating complex mechanics into clear concepts and helping the team connect model outputs to robust business decisions.
• Champion Modelling Excellence: Maintain a high bar for code quality, rigorous validation, and reproducibility to ensure our data science practices remain clean and trusted.

About you 

• Proven Data Science Experience: Hands-on experience focused on advanced statistical, econometric, or time-series modelling (experience in marketing measurement/MMM is an advantage).
• Deep Theoretical Knowledge: Strong foundation in advanced statistics, causal inference, and regression. Familiarity with probabilistic programming (e.g., PyMC) is a major plus.
• Research-to-Application Mindset: Ability to read scientific papers, explore state-of-the-art techniques, and replicate or adapt advanced methodologies to solve complex problems.
• Production-Grade Engineering: Highly proficient in Python, with a passion for building models as data products. You design your pipelines and code so they are modular, reproducible, and easily used or extended by other scientists.
• Business-Minded Tech Partner: You care deeply about the why behind your code, naturally connecting technical model outputs to commercial metrics and business outcomes.
• Educational Background: A Master’s or PhD degree in a highly quantitative discipline (Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Data Science, or similar).
• Impactful storyteller: A charismatic and confident presenter who navigates any topic’s technicality, actively driving and facilitating strategic business conversations across both technical and leadership audiences.

Workation Policy

Better balance holidays with workdays by working remotely! Up to 90 days per year in the EU, of these, 21 days can be spent globally. For non-EU citizens, it's 21 days worldwide. This can be combined with time off for vacation or personal time.
