The Thermal Mechanical group is part of the Platform Design Engineering team and is responsible for thermal, mechanical, and acoustic design & validation of Intel's AI & discrete graphics cards. The team is an essential part of delivering Intel's 3D graphics, media, display GPU, and AI inference technology. We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate individual who would contribute to the design and validation of our next generation of discrete graphics hardware and work with cutting edge design technologies. What You’ll Do Depending on project and team needs, you may have the key responsibilities will include but not limited to: Mechanical, thermal, and acoustic testing of graphics cards. Thermal management firmware validation using Python. Building computer systems and server-grade test setups. Developing scripts to automate test procedures and test reports. Preparing test reports. Mid to high volume data analysis. Data presentation including analysis and recommendation to larger team. Vendor management and communication. Design of test fixtures in CAD. Organizing and maintenance of lab equipment, including ordering of needed items and keeping inventory. Qualifications: You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research. Minimum Qualifications and Experience : Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other science/engineering related field. Candidate must also have 3+ months of educational or work experience with the following: Labs skills including test setup preparation and data acquisition. Data analysis including experience working with programming languages and Excel. Programming skills in Python or similar languages. 3D modeling and mechanical design skills using Creo (at a minimum a good working knowledge of SolidWorks is required). Preferred Qualification and Experience to stand out above the crowd: Strong fundamental knowledge of computer architecture, computer organization. Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes/multimeters/power supplies/etc. Computer enthusiasts and excellent knowledge of current leading PC technology. Experience with Linux command line, drivers, virtualization, datacenters, servers. General knowledge of discrete graphics add-in cards or mobile discrete graphics systems. Familiarity with running AI models. Experience in building your own PC. Applicable work/experience in a lab environment. Deeper project work in Programming/Scripting languages such as Python.
