Department Overview This role sits within the Airwave UK Managed Services finance team and is responsible for managing Airwave orders and revenue accounting, driving the business to meet revenue targets and ensuring compliance with the Competition and Markets Authority’s charge control order Job Description Revenue and orders forecasting within group CV processes, using Airwave’s CRM and Motorola’s Salesforce systems, plus data manipulation within excel Support Airwave’s Customer Service Manager team to review actual results, forecasts and identify risks and opportunities Application of US GAAP Revenue Recognition principles and group accounting policies to Airwave billing, including month end review and booking of manual adjustments to revenue Review and approval of core billing, traffic unit billing and reporting Monthly Service Credit calculations, invoicing and reporting, and annual audit thereof Ensure compliance with the Competition and Markets Authority’s charge control order over Airwave revenue, including application of CMA discounting and indexation Calculation and application of annual indexation uplifts to revenue Motorola reporting including Backlog reporting and submission, including Mansum entries, ASC 606 reporting and revenue footnotes Finance support for Special Coverage Projects and growth areas (EAS, SRN and two growth centres) Involvement in external statutory audit processes, external regulatory compliance reporting and CMA review processes, including the upcoming 2026 CMA review Contribute to implementation of new ‘Quote to Invoice’ sales system in 2026/27, including design and operation of associated finance business processes Basic Requirements Strong finance experience, with commercial acumen and ability to deal with multiple finance systems Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders and working in a matrix organisation Experience of group reporting requirements and driving the business to meet financial targets Knowledge of US GAAP revenue recognition principles and the ability to implement them across multiple diverse revenue streams Knowledge of the benefits of incorporating automation and AI into finance processes and the ability to identify and implement such opportunities Excellent communication and social skills to develop effective internal and external relationships with Airwave colleagues, Motorola contacts and external stakeholders. The ability to work independently, self-motivate, organise yourself and prioritise your workload The ability to demonstrate the importance of controls, processes and best practice. Good systems skills, including Microsoft and Google software products.
