As a Category Supplier Manager in the US Construction Trades Sourcing category, you will have a valuable opportunity to assist Global and Regional Category Managers and their internal collaborators in developing and implementing strategies. You will take part in strategic sourcing projects and help plan and carry out negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmarking, and cost control. By supporting the category strategy, you will also build positive relationships with internal team members and contribute to outstanding cost, supply, and resilience results. Responsibilities: Category Management & Strategic Sourcing: Support processes used to monitor collaborator happiness with key suppliers. Assist in identifying and tracking targets that improve value, purchasing efficiency, customer service, and supplier performance. Examine sourcing data and market trends and provide summaries of findings for assigned categories. Participate in supplier segmentation, goal-setting, and routine supplier reviews. Support the development and implementation of category strategies under the mentorship of experienced Category Managers and internal partners. Cost Management & Analysis: Gather data to identify and evaluate category-specific cost, savings, and value levers. Track category savings, value, and scorecard metrics and communicate progress. Research market intelligence and category price trends for relevant collaborators. Support the creation and upkeep of should-cost models and market benchmarks for assigned categories. Negotiation: Participate in negotiations for sourcing events, contract extensions, renewals, pricing, and other commercial terms. Support sourcing events and RFQ processes, including data collection, bid analysis, and supplier communications. Incorporate approved savings targets and contract requirements into negotiation preparation and documentation. Assist with contract strategy, drafting, negotiation documentation, and monitoring supplier performance against contracted terms and conditions. Conduct assigned sourcing and cost-analysis activities using supplier, industry, and market data. Business Partnering: Collaborate with partners to understand requirements and support practical sourcing solutions. Build knowledge of assigned spend categories through research and relationships with key collaborators and suppliers. Support a customer-focused approach to resolving issues and representing Procurement. Develop collaborative working relationships that contribute to cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience. Minimum Requirements: 1-2 years of relevant experience; internships, co-ops, academic projects, or related work experience are valued. Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, economics, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Foundational understanding of procurement, sourcing, category management, supply chain, or supplier management concepts. Preferred Requirements: Established abilities in analytical thinking, resolving problems, and organizing, combined with accuracy in data handling. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with partners and suppliers. Proficiency with standard efficiency and data-analysis tools, with an interest in developing negotiation, cost-analysis, and AI-enabled procurement skills.
