ML Services Software Development Engineer

The Opportunity The Firefly GenAI Romania Services engineering team is looking for a ML Services Software Development Engineer to create unique experiences for Creative Cloud clients. Our goal is to seamlessly enable users to transform Creative Intent into Creative Success, through GenAI features, in our revolutionary Firefly and Express applications! https://firefly.adobe.com/ https://www.adobe.com/express/ Our team owns the model customization and inference layer behind Firefly — from training and fine-tuning custom generative models to serving them at scale in production. You'll work at the intersection of ML infrastructure and distributed systems, on problems like GPU cost/throughput optimization, resilient large-scale inference serving, and enterprise-grade customization (e.g., brand-consistent generation for our largest customers). What you'll Do Architect and implement performant, robust and scalable GenAI services that support different deep learning models (training and inference) in large-scale, distributed environments Lead inference and training platform projects end-to-end — from scoping requirements to launch and ongoing production support Identify and resolve usability, extensibility, and scalability issues specific to the ML services platform Collaborate with machine learning researchers to translate model requirements into infrastructure decisions, improving GPU utilization and cost-efficiency across training and inference workloads Monitor ML platform performance and continuously tune infrastructure to fit fluid cloud resource needs, balancing peak-load reliability against average-load cost Design APIs and services that handle diverse, real-world input formats robustly (e.g., broad image format support) without pushing unnecessary conversion burden onto clients Work closely with teams across Adobe, across geographies, including cross-org partners building enterprise-focused generation capabilities. The technology you produce has visibility at the highest levels of the company and materially affects the positive impact our products have on customers What you need to succeed B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field Expert in Python and distributed systems Solid understanding of deep learning fundamentals — model architectures, training vs. inference lifecycle, and common tradeoffs (latency, throughput, batching, precision) Working familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and model serving concepts, sufficient to collaborate effectively with ML researchers on infrastructure requirements Understanding of GPU computing as applied to ML workloads (memory management, batching strategies, mixed precision) and how it drives cost/throughput decisions Proficiency in Linux, Docker, Kubernetes Experience working with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure Experience working with large and complex codebases, employing API design techniques to maintain clean, maintainable code Nice to Have Web application development experience Experience with CI/CD systems Experience with Agile development processes including Scrum About Adobe Adobe empowers everyone to create through innovative platforms and tools that unleash creativity, productivity and personalized customer experiences.
