Job Description: Material Operator* (New Ulm, MN) Shifts: Fixed or rotating, depending on availability Midnight: 11 pm – 7 am fixed Afternoon: 3 pm – 11 pm fixed Day/Afternoon: 7 am – 3 pm and 3 pm - 11 pm rotating Starting Pay: $26.69 per hour $1.50 per hour differential for afternoon shift, $2.00 per hour differential for midnight shift and double time pay on Sunday $1 per hour pay increase after successful completion of 6 months of employment As a Material Operator , you will be part of a team that keeps our manufacturing operation running safely, efficiently, and with pride for the products we produce and the customers we serve. Transport materials between buildings. Plan, set up and supply production lines with materials needed. Work with the production team to plan and schedule the flow of raw materials in/out of the department. Perform quality audits and pallet verification checks. Operate equipment in a safe manner. Follow plant and department safety rules and practices. Work closely with other operators and service groups to optimize the process. Computer use is required. Meet performance/output goals. What You Bring To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws. High School Diploma or GED (completed prior to start) Possess a current and valid Class D driver’s license Ability to obtain and sustain PIV license Ability to obtain medical certification Ability to operate material handling equipment including cube truck, sit down and stand-up forklifts Ability to work 8 to 12 consecutive hours per day Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required Completion of a job-related readiness assessment Ability to lift/carry heavy materials Ability to comprehend, understand, and apply written and verbal directions from standard operating procedures, safety rules and supervisor coaching Ability to wear personal protective equipment in accordance with safety rules Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process Other Helpful Experience You May Have Manufacturing experience Basic computer skills Post high-school education or training Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented work style About the Job Readiness Assessment As part of our hiring process, candidates complete a short, job‑related assessment online or in-person.
