Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The candidate should have strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and VSAM , along with experience supporting business-critical applications and working with cross-functional teams. What You Will Do: Design, develop, test and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and VSAM . Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Develop and enhance batch and online applications. Perform complex application debugging, root-cause analysis and production issue resolution. Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries, COBOL programs and JCL jobs . Support production batch cycles and resolve job failures and application incidents. Perform impact analysis for application enhancements and system/interface changes. Work with upstream and downstream applications to troubleshoot integration and data-flow issues. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development and quality standards. Support application releases, implementation and post-production validation. Create and maintain technical specifications, application documentation and support procedures. Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance. Collaborate with business analysts, application teams, infrastructure teams and other stakeholders. Drive automation and continuous improvement opportunities within mainframe development and support. What You Have: Required Technical Skills Must Have COBOL JCL DB2 / SQL CICS VSAM Mainframe batch processing Production support and troubleshooting File handling and data processing Debugging and root-cause analysis Preferred / Good to Have IBM z/OS TSO/ISPF SDSF IBM MQ Changeman / Endevor Control-M or equivalent scheduling tool File-AID / Abend-AID Experience Expectations the candidate should be capable of independently owning technical deliverables rather than only performing coding tasks. The role should demonstrate: Strong application and system-level troubleshooting Technical design and impact analysis End-to-end ownership of enhancements and production issues Ability to understand complex legacy application flows Strong communication with business and technical stakeholders Code review and technical mentoring Incident and problem management Release and production implementation support Education Bachelor's degree in , Engineering , or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
