During this 10-13 week program, you will have the opportunity to partner with Amgen’s finance leaders and experience our mission-driven culture firsthand. Each summer intern will be placed on a team and assigned a meaningful project that’s tied directly to our strategic and tactical goals. These projects give interns the opportunity to think analytically, build a strong foundation in corporate finance, and gain valuable experience in the biotechnology industry. Throughout the summer, each intern will benefit from the support and guidance of their manager, assigned mentor, teammates, fellow interns, recruiting team members, and the greater Amgen community. Upon successful completion of the summer experience, interns will be evaluated for a full-time position post-graduation. Develop a highly differentiated set of technical and financial skills as you tackle a challenging project and prepare a presentation for the greater finance organization Gain a deep understanding of your functional team and how it contributes to Amgen’s success. Potential team placements include Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Audit, and Corporate Services Collaborate with fellow interns in a week-long multidisciplinary case study competition that will expose you to various aspects of our business including operations, sales and marketing, and forecasting Explore opportunities to use data, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, controls, and decision-making Work with financial and operational data to identify trends, develop insights, and communicate recommendations to business partners Gain direct exposure to Amgen executives and senior leaders through regular meetings, networking opportunities, and career development events Network with colleagues across the company and enjoy full access to Amgen’s Employee Resource Groups Program Eligibility Requirements Must be available to work a full-time schedule Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program / co-op Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered What We Expect of You We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The passionate and driven individual we seek exemplifies the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 18 years or older Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts Preferred Qualifications Concentration in Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management, Accounting or Finance Ability to demonstrate an understanding of basic financial analytical principles Effective communication and organizational skills Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Strong team mentality and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues on complex assignments Prior work experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry Submit a thoughtful cover letter that highlights your interest in the role and how your experiences align with the opportunity What You Can Expect of Us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
