Job Details: Job Description: Position Description A co-op term with Intel of Canada is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in integrated circuit design and test, from custom design modules to developing SoCs. As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting custom silicon solutions. This position is not eligible for Intel Immigration Sponsorship. Eight-Month Co-Op, beginning January 2027 Special Note (Fully Remote): The designated work location for this position is in the province of (Ontario, BC or Both). Candidate hired must be physically located in and work remotely from the designated work location. If hired & reside in a province other than the designated work location, you will be required to relocate to (Ontario and/or BC) before your start date. Responsibilities: • Develop software with a direct interface to hardware including microcode, IP specific firmware, FPGA, and DSPs. • Responsible for designing and implementing interfaces that abstract low level hardware details from higher levels of software and firmware. • Performing design and code reviews, as well as testing and validating product implementations. Qualifications: We are looking for enthusiastic students with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a desire to learn. Having a good general knowledge of embedded systems, digital ASIC design, and software/firmware development and testing methodology is an asset. Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications: Current undergraduate student Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study Knowledge of C programming and system software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Additional Software development experience in C++, Rust, System C, Python and/or Domian Specific Language modeling Understanding of processors, servers, system software architecture Detailed SoC Architecture, SoC Subsystem Architecture, IP Architecture and/or Microarchitecture knowledge Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
