Emerging Product Services, Senior Associate - Analytics

Position Summary: The Emerging Product Services Senior Associate (Analytics) operates a proprietary ETL process developed by athenahealth. This role uses ETL tools to transform data from a wide variety of sources into a standardized destination format. Building a strong, consistent data set supports analysis and produces actionable insights for our clients. You are motivated by tackling large data sets and building processes and tools that will help the organization scale. You strive to conquer the complexity of data from payers, EMRs, and labs to truly impact healthcare. This is a hybrid role based out of Belfast, ME, and reports to the EPS Data/Analytics Senior Manager. About the Team: The Emerging Product Services (EPS) team supports new products and services during early launch phases by building enablement paths, providing customer support, creating knowledge content, and identifying product or workflow gaps. The team works closely with Product, Customer Success, Operations, and client-facing partners to help new offerings become stable and scalable. The Data/Analytics team is responsible for processing various external data sets and sources through to the front-end web application. The team also helps build and maintain data infrastructure that powers athenahealth’s analytics offerings to ensure clients have access to clean, reliable data. Team members use various systems and tools to track issues, document processes, and support resolution work, working collaboratively across functions to solve complex data challenges and support the organization's broader analytics goals. Recent examples of EPS-supported offerings include Ambient Notes, Dental, and e-fax. Essential Job Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy client implementation projects, supporting the team in adapting planned scope and enacting contingency solutions as needed to ensure seamless flow of data from source to the front-end application. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop product solutions that support improved health outcomes. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Facilitate seamless flow of data from source to the front-end application. Monitor and analyze data to explain performance variation and trends on an ongoing basis Utilize AI-assisted tools to help explore data issues, summarize pipeline behavior, and accelerate debugging or documentation while applying human judgment to validate findings and production decisions. Additional Job Responsibilities: Identify and advocate for enhancements to current implementation tools and processes to help the team improve scalability and performance. Support internal stakeholders with analysis and developing an understanding of source data via knowledge sharing and maintaining documentation and SOPs to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Resolve production and non-production issues, by investigating product functionality issues, coordinating resolutions with internal teams, and at times, communicating with customers directly. Expected Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 4+ years of professional experience with data integration and relational databases. Experience with Atlassian suite and Agile SDLC practices, Snowflake, Visual Studio Code, and Salesforce. SQL programming experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server, including proficiency in T-SQL, is required; experience with one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Perl is preferred. Experience with database change management tools such as Liquibase, as well as version control systems such as Git. Familiarity with healthcare data including adjudicated payer claims and clinical data sources is preferred. Experience in analyzing complex business problems and building solutions for those problems, and ability to write code that is technically sound, resilient, performant, scalable, and readable. Aptitude and patience for reengineering processes, tools, and roles to improve scalability, efficiency, and quality. Ability to influence others through enthusiasm, commitment, and vision rather than direct line authority. Meticulous attention to detail with a strong ability to independently drive results and meet deadlines in stressful situations. Aptitude and interest for self-teaching. Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity as we adapt to a diverse set of client needs. Influential verbal and written communication skills. Expected Compensation $73,000 - $125,000 The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.
