Tech Lead - Data Platforms

For AI to keep progressing, it needs high-quality training data drawn from real production use cases. The public web has already been crawled and trained on—there is limited new signal left there. That is where we come in.Our vision is to create a world where frontier models can access high-quality data on tap, the same way they access computers today. About the role: You'll be the founding lead engineer for our data marketplace: how data owners discover, value and share their data, and how it becomes clean, rights-cleared, training-ready datasets for leading AI labs. All of it securely, at scale, and without anyone seeing data they shouldn't. What you'll build: 1. Distributed systems that move and process large volumes of data reliably, securely and cost-efficiently. 2. Data owner experience. Onboarding, accounts, agreements, and the portal where data owners see what their data is worth and choose to share it. 3. Discovery and valuation. Hybrid tools that scan a data owner's systems, sample and estimate value without moving all the data. 4. Ingestion. High scale connectors for all tools and systems used in economically valuable jobs . You decide where to adopt open source and where to build. 5. Clearance. Secrets and PII scrubbing across code and unstructured data, with measurable recall and precision. 6. Foundation. Secure storage, access control, and lineage that traces every record to its source and lets any lot be revoked. 7. Delivery. Packaging and sampling datasets for buyers. Turning ad hoc requests from supply and BD into repeatable systems. You have 1. 8+ years building production software, including 2+ years leading a team of 4 or more engineers. 2. Large-scale production systems you designed and ran. 3. Customer-facing products you shipped, not only internal systems. 4. Sound judgment on what to build and what to adopt. 5. A degree from a Tier 1 engineering institution (IIT, BITS, NIT, IIIT or equivalent). Nice to have 1. Experience with security and privacy-sensitive systems. 2. Working knowledge of DPDP, GDPR, HIPAA or SOC 2. 3. Shipped software that runs in customers' environments.
