Principal Software Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to shape the architecture and delivery of our modern, AWS-native platform powering underwriting intelligence, GenAI-driven analysis, and high-volume content processing. Working across Python, .NET, PostgreSQL/Aurora, OpenSearch, and LangGraph-based services , you will own technical direction, system quality, scalability, and reliability across the platform. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical leadership responsibility, including setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and coordinating across product and platform teams . Extensive software engineering experience , with a proven track record of building and operating production systems and data pipelines at scale. Strong software architecture and system design expertise, with experience making and documenting complex technical trade-offs. Advanced experience with .NET / C# , including production services and APIs using REST and GraphQL. Deep hands-on experience with AWS , including S3, Batch, Lambda, SNS, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, EKS, and CloudWatch. Strong SQL and PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, query optimization, and graph-based data modelling. Experience designing distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems , with robust observability, recovery, and rollback strategies. Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed services, using logs, metrics, and traces with tools such as Splunk and CloudWatch. Experience with CI/CD and Agile delivery , using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Demonstrated technical leadership , including mentoring engineers, leading design reviews and RFCs, and coordinating across teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to have: Python 3.10+ experience, including Pandas, BeautifulSoup, and XML/HTML processing. Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or other LLM/agentic frameworks . Experience with OpenSearch or vector search technologies for RAG applications.
