Investment Banking - Consumer Retail M&A - Vice President

As a seasoned Investment Banking professional specializing in Consumer Retail M&A , you will advise corporate and financial sponsor clients on strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, carve-outs, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. You will develop and maintain trusted client relationships, lead transaction execution, and collaborate with product and industry partners to deliver comprehensive strategic advice throughout the M&A lifecycle. This role requires deep M&A execution expertise, strong financial and valuation skills, and the ability to manage complex transaction processes while serving as a trusted advisor to senior client executives. Job Responsibilities Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact and lead banker on M&A transactions, driving execution from origination through closing. Lead all aspects of transaction execution, including strategic alternatives analysis, valuation, due diligence, process management, and negotiation support. Review and coordinate the analytical work of junior bankers, ensuring accuracy and quality of financial analyses, valuation materials, and client deliverables. Oversee the development of complex financial models, including merger consequences analyses, accretion/dilution analyses, discounted cash flow models, leveraged buyout analyses, and other valuation methodologies. Manage all key transaction workstreams, identifying risks and proactively developing solutions to address execution challenges. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, accounting advisors, consultants, counterparties, and financing partners. Lead management presentations, due diligence sessions, Q&A processes, and negotiations throughout the transaction lifecycle. Develop and refine client presentations, board materials, strategic reviews, and marketing materials to support M&A advisory engagements. Mentor and develop junior bankers through active coaching, transaction leadership, and formal training initiatives. Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing client pitches, and contributing strategic insights on industry trends and transaction opportunities. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Extensive experience executing M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side advisory assignments. Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis, merger modeling, and transaction structuring. Demonstrated experience managing transaction processes and coordinating multiple stakeholders in complex deal environments. Proven ability to lead and develop junior bankers while maintaining high standards of analytical rigor and execution excellence. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under demanding timelines. 3+ years of Investment Banking experience post-MBA, or 6+ years of Investment Banking experience post-BA is required. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Experience advising Consumer & Retail companies on strategic M&A transactions. Established relationships with corporate clients, private equity sponsors, and industry advisors. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, boards of directors, clients, and key stakeholders across lines of business. Demonstrated ability to originate business opportunities and contribute to client relationship development. Strong leadership presence and sound judgment in high-profile transaction environments.
