As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline and apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope Job responsibilities Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving data and systems running at scale, and ensuring end-to-end monitoring of applications. Accountable for incident, problem, and change management, as well as risk, vendor and client relationship management, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management, and service evolution. Executes day-to-day duties of their function and defines and drives MIS requirements to support and improve the business processes they support. Acts as the primary customer interface for day-to-day issues and queries. Demonstrates leadership skills with emerging management capability (e.g., Team Leader / SME (Subject Matter Expert)). Coaches and mentors less experienced team members and supports overall team management responsibilities. Develops organizational functional goals, priorities, and service objectives aligned to the overall GT strategy. Creates original documentation and updates existing documentation. Acts independently and leverages critical thinking; advocates for the customer base when faced with Infrastructure or Business Critical issues. Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring capacity risks and improve remediation workflows, ensuring changes are validated and aligned to resiliency and security expectations. Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate monitoring and capacity analysis and documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Expertise in one or multiple Network Technologies: Routing & Switching (LAN, WAN), IP Services (Load Balancing, Bluecoat Proxies and Firewalls), Datacenter Technologies (Nexus, ASR, VXLAN, Cisco ACI / SIMPL, Arista Fabric), Optical (Ciena). Experience working in a banking, exchange, or technology type environment within a global organization. Understands network infrastructure components and how they are tracked and managed in various systems. Executes within a customer-centric environment. Ability to use (or learn) scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, etc. Experience in protocol analyzers (Cpacket, BigSwtich, Wireshark, Riverbed). Experience in capacity/monitoring management tools (Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes). Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity. Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectation Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Ability to initiate and implement ideas to solve business problems Passion for learning new technologies and driving innovative solutions.
