Software Engineers: Feedback on AI Coding Tools

Accountabilities: Participate in a remote video interview focused on your software development workflow and experience with AI coding tools. Walk through your typical programming environment and explain how AI assistants fit into your day-to-day development process. Describe how you use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or comparable AI coding assistants to write, modify, troubleshoot, or debug code. Discuss the prompting strategies, workflows, and practices you use to get useful results from AI-assisted development tools. Compare different AI coding tools or models you have recently used, highlighting practical differences in capabilities and user experience. Share examples of challenges, limitations, errors, or reliability concerns you encounter when working with AI-generated code. Discuss how AI-assisted development affects your productivity, debugging habits, coding workflow, and decision-making. Requirements Currently active as a software engineer, software developer, technical lead, or in a closely related hands-on engineering role. Hands-on experience using modern AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools. Comfortable actively writing and reviewing software code as part of your professional or substantial technical work. Ability to clearly explain technical workflows, development practices, debugging approaches, and experiences with AI-generated code. Willingness to discuss both the benefits and limitations of AI-assisted software development based on firsthand experience. Experience in backend, frontend, full-stack, mobile, or other software engineering disciplines is welcome across technology stacks. Comfortable participating in a remote video conversation and sharing relevant examples from your development workflow. Benefits $63 USD one-time compensation for participation in the paid research interview. Fully remote participation from the United States.
