Senior Software Engineer New Markets

Accountabilities: Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems and services. Build and enhance middle- and back-office systems, including gRPC microservices, React-based internal interfaces, administrative tools, developer-facing APIs, and third-party integrations. Collaborate with core engineering teams to evolve shared frameworks and systems supporting multiple languages, currencies, markets, and regional requirements. Work closely with engineering leads across different regions through synchronous and asynchronous collaboration to align technical priorities and delivery. Troubleshoot production incidents, reported bugs, and system issues to maintain reliability, performance, and system integrity. Serve as a regional engineering and operational reliability lead during business hours, including acting as incident commander when required. Contribute to proactive 24x7 system stability by identifying operational risks and coordinating timely responses to incidents. Support regional recruitment initiatives and help identify and develop engineering talent. Mentor engineers on software engineering principles, architecture, development practices, and technical standards. Help foster strong engineering practices and culture across the region and wider organization. Translate technical challenges and opportunities into practical solutions aligned with business and market expansion objectives. Navigate regulatory and operational requirements when developing solutions for international financial markets. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, product, operations, compliance, vendors, and other stakeholders. Participate in on-call responsibilities when needed to support critical engineering initiatives and production systems. Requirements Strong professional experience in software engineering, with demonstrated experience designing and building scalable, production-grade applications. Strong proficiency in Go or a comparable backend programming language, with expertise in designing robust and efficient system architectures. Strong computer science fundamentals and proven experience with software architecture and system design. Experience with event-driven system design and distributed architectures. Strong problem-solving skills combined with a proactive, ownership-oriented approach. Experience troubleshooting production incidents and the ability to act decisively as an incident commander when required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed engineering teams, vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while remaining highly collaborative across different time zones. Comfortable operating under pressure in a fast-paced environment where system reliability and performance are critical. Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business and engineering strategies. Experience working with global teams and navigating international technical or operational requirements. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar technologies is a plus. Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling technology organization is advantageous. Knowledge of emerging technologies and modern software development practices is a plus. Experience with domain-driven design is beneficial. Experience in financial services, fintech, online trading platforms, or brokerage systems is highly valued. Understanding of complex financial systems, including double-entry accounting, financial transaction processing, trade lifecycle management, and settlement processes, is advantageous. Experience with online trading systems, including order management, execution, market data processing, and real-time trade processing, is a plus. Experience designing scalable, high-availability financial applications capable of supporting multi-currency transactions is advantageous.
