Senior Software Engineer

Accountabilities: Develop and deliver business-critical features for large-scale Media and Web Delivery products. Translate high-level design specifications into detailed technical designs and production-ready software. Build reusable, maintainable, secure, and scalable system software and applications. Contribute to architectural and technical decisions, considering performance, scalability, security, reliability, and future product expansion. Analyse complex engineering challenges and develop effective solutions using strong programming and systems knowledge. Collaborate with other engineering teams to identify system dependencies and coordinate implementation activities. Deliver software within demanding product release schedules while maintaining engineering quality and reliability. Participate in design discussions, code development, debugging, testing, and technical reviews. Work closely with architects, product managers, QA professionals, engineering peers, and management to deliver high-quality solutions. Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, maintainability, and overall product quality. Troubleshoot and debug software in Linux environments and contribute to resolving complex production or development issues. Requirements 5+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Strong programming experience in Java or Python, with exposure to user interface development. Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, and problem-solving techniques. Experience designing and developing secure applications capable of operating at significant scale. Strong Linux systems knowledge, including programming, troubleshooting, debugging, and application development in Linux environments. Ability to translate architectural or high-level specifications into practical, maintainable software implementations. Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to diagnosing and solving complex technical problems. Understanding of performance, scalability, security, and reliability considerations in software design. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, product teams, QA, and management. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment with demanding product release schedules.
