Senior Site Reliability Engineer, NetBox Delivery

Accountabilities: Own and improve the software build and release pipeline, from base image creation through availability across cloud and self-managed environments. Design and maintain reliable release handoffs between core engineering and deployment teams so new versions reach customers efficiently and predictably. Improve application performance and production reliability, including startup behavior, database performance, and PostgreSQL optimization. Build and maintain comprehensive observability across the application and release pipeline, including monitoring, alerting, metrics, and service-level objectives. Serve as an escalation point for significant performance and reliability issues, investigating root causes and contributing fixes to the underlying application code when appropriate. Strengthen software supply-chain security through practices such as vulnerability scanning, image security, and artifact integrity controls. Support compliance initiatives related to the build and delivery pipeline, including SOC 2 requirements. Participate in an on-call rotation and lead incident response for issues within your area of ownership. Conduct thorough postmortems and translate incident findings into engineering improvements that reduce recurrence. Drive technical initiatives across team boundaries, from developing RFCs and technical proposals through implementation and migration. Help shape the practices, tooling, and operating model of a new engineering team. Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related discipline. Proven ability to write robust, maintainable production software and take ownership of systems throughout their lifecycle. Strong production experience with Django and PostgreSQL at scale, including database schema design, migration risks, and query-performance optimization under real-world workloads. Strong containerization expertise, including base image design, Python dependency management, vulnerability scanning, image signing, and other software supply-chain security practices. Hands-on experience with technologies such as AWS, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and RDS; Kubernetes and Helm; GitHub Actions; ArgoCD or FluxCD; Terraform; Prometheus; and Grafana. Experience building and operating systems within AI-augmented development environments, including tools such as Claude Code and reliable agentic development workflows. Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives across engineering teams, communicate technical proposals clearly, and drive complex migrations or changes through completion. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and incident-management skills, with an ability to identify root causes rather than relying on short-term workarounds. Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional engineering work. Familiarity with the NetBox ecosystem or network automation is a plus. Open-source contributions or experience participating in open-source projects are advantageous. Experience in a B2B software startup or high-growth technology organization is beneficial. Deep experience with supply-chain security technologies such as cosign, Sigstore, or SLSA is a plus. Experience operating high-throughput or performance-sensitive systems for enterprise customers is advantageous. Benefits US base salary: $180,000–$195,000 USD. Equity opportunity. Bonus eligibility.
