Senior Platform Engineer

Accountabilities:: Build, automate, and maintain production runtime environments that support a range of application workloads. Act as the technical bridge between application development teams and platform environments, facilitating communication and promoting platform best practices. Validate technical solutions and implementations against defined requirements, ensuring platform integrity, reliability, and efficiency. Independently investigate and solve technical and business problems, developing focused components or solutions when needed. Translate medium-level technical tasks into cohesive platform capabilities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components effectively. Estimate the time and effort required for technical tasks and contribute to planning and resource allocation. Apply programming and scripting appropriately to automate processes and solve infrastructure challenges. Support Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, continuous delivery, containers, and automation tooling. Contribute to security automation, monitoring, performance instrumentation, and secure architecture practices. Troubleshoot complex systems and read, write, and debug code as part of ongoing platform development and operations. Help establish and promote scalable DevOps and DevSecOps practices across application and platform teams. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture. Travel approximately 10–25% as required. Requirements: Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar engineering role focused on system architecture, infrastructure, and development. Strong experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Docker. Familiarity with continuous delivery, distributed architectures, containerization, cloud services, infrastructure-as-code, and everything-as-code practices. Experience with tools and technologies such as Terraform or Pulumi, GitOps, Helm, Kustomize, and CNCF or open-source projects. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Ansible, along with basic shell scripting knowledge. Strong proficiency with YAML. Understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps principles, including CI/CD theory and implementation. Experience working in an Agile framework within a remote or distributed team environment. Strong independent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working across application, platform, security, and other technical teams. Experience with security automation and familiarity with API security, container security, and cloud security. Knowledge of secure architecture design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation within complex enterprise environments. Ability to understand technical requirements and independently develop practical solutions without relying entirely on predefined architecture. Top Secret/SCI security clearance or eligibility to obtain the required clearance. DoD 8570 IAT II certification. Experience supporting Department of Defense environments, particularly production systems with an Authority to Operate (ATO). U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
