Senior Accountant

Accountabilities: Own the accounts payable cycle, including processing and coding vendor invoices, verifying approvals, preparing payment runs, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Manage accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, collections, cash application, and follow-up on outstanding balances. Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in accordance with contract terms and resolve billing questions or discrepancies. Perform daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded. Review and process employee expense reports for policy compliance, accuracy, and appropriate coding, while administering the corporate card program. Support the monthly close by preparing journal entries, accruals, schedules, and other required accounting documentation. Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and research and resolve reconciling items for review by the Controller. Support annual financial statement audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor requests. Help maintain and improve accounting policies, internal controls, process documentation, and operational workflows. Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and apply AI and modern technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the speed of the close. Contribute to accounting system improvements, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general ledger responsibilities. Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting. Hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems. Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and experience using Ramp or comparable expense-management tools. Strong attention to detail and organization, with the ability to meet close deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to independently investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies. Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative, ownership-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Demonstrated interest in using AI, automation, and technology to improve accounting workflows and reduce manual effort. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. CPA certification or progress toward CPA qualification is a plus. Experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS organization is preferred. Familiarity with revenue recognition under ASC 606 and SaaS billing processes is a plus.
