Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Systems

Accountabilities: Develop mechanical designs, proposal drawings, installation concepts, and equipment specifications for flow control and slide gate systems. Design, modify, and improve mechanical equipment, including drives, support structures, and associated system components. Produce detailed engineering documentation and drawings to support customer projects and equipment execution. Coordinate engineering activities throughout project lifecycles, helping ensure deliverables meet customer requirements and project timelines. Support trials, conversions, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations. Evaluate customer processes and operational requirements and recommend effective engineering solutions. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, identify root causes, and implement practical corrective actions. Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Field Service, and R&D teams on projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams regarding product applications, system performance, and equipment functionality. Contribute to the development of new technologies, products, and engineering improvements that enhance customer outcomes and support business growth. Requirements At least 1 year of experience in engineering, mechanical design, project engineering, or a related technical field. Associate degree, technical diploma, or bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related technical discipline. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and core engineering concepts. Experience with 3D CAD platforms such as Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred. Experience with industrial equipment, manufacturing, metals, steel, heavy industry, or capital equipment environments is preferred. Customer-facing technical experience, project coordination, product development, or engineering change management experience is advantageous. Additional language capabilities are a plus.
